I have been toying with such an application written in python
specifically around ffmpeg. The idea would be to offer the user a
"basic" and "expert" view. The basic view would offer a small
selection of options such as "iPod Compatible". The expert view would
offer the ability to tweak each option and import/save profiles that
can be shared to anyone else using the application (or anyone using
command line ffmpeg for that matter). I haven't had time to get past
the paper mock up stage though.
